Introduction

The Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) is the First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly. This committee addresses and deals with issues that are related to disarmament challenges to global security as well as threats to international peace. By discussing the problems and possible solutions, the delegates in the DISEC committee will seek solutions to ensure security and promote transparency in armament. At SOBILMUN’23 delegates will meet to resolve two crucial topics. The first topic, which is the idea of ” Establishment of a Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone in the Middle East ” that is tried to be developed as a solution to the problem of nuclear weapons in the Middle East. Delegates will try to reach a conclusion by discussing this solution proposal, which will change the course of millions of people and countries. The second topic is “The Implementation of the Declaration of the Indian Ocean as a Zone of Peace” where delegates will discuss about the positive and negative aspects of the issue for the countries, as well as the root of the problem.
