Introduction
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is a global organization dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people. This committee ensures that everybody has the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge, having fled violence, persecution, war or disaster at home. Since 1950, it has faced multiple crises on multiple continents, and provided vital assistance to refugees, asylum-seekers, and internally displaced and stateless people, many of whom have nobody left to turn to. At SOBILMUN’23, delegates will have two topics to resolve. The first topic, which is “The Displacement Issues of the Refugees in Turkey”, an issue that affects people from dozens of races simultaneously. The delegates will have a solution-oriented discussion and come to a solution about this issue. The second topic is “Finding Solutions for the Ukrainian Refugee Crisis and Providing International Aid for the Affected Refugees”. Delegates will strive to find an international solution for the thousands of Ukrainian refugees displaced by the war.
